On Dulcimer Wings...

Dulcimer

Brian first introduced the dulcimer to the Stones' music during the recording of their
fourth album, Aftermath, with his acoustic dulcimer underpinning I Am Waiting and
providing a delicate Elizabethan feel to Lady Jane. No doubt owing to the demands
of live performances, Vox designed an electric dulcimer at Brian's request, which he
would use on at least two later recordings. It's most likely the "banjo" heard on the
track Cool, Calm & Collected and he uses it for a most ethereal effect on Gomper.

More of Brian's dulcimer can be found on the score he composed for the movie
A Degree of Murder.
